A premier pottery studio in the Northwest Hills of Connecticut offering sophisticated kilns seldom found in a small privately-owned facility.  These include a Rock Creek Naborigama, primitive firing pit (raku, saggar, sawdust, horsehair & feather, obvara) and train kiln.  The studio also includes a small gallery in a bucolic setting.

    Making Method: Wheel thrown vessel  polished with Terra Sigillata to which a variety of botanicals are adhered to the exterior of the ceramic vessel. The vessel is then submerged in a fire clay slurry, which acts as a resist. The wet wares are placed into a unique kiln filled with sawdust. The sawdust slowly smolders for a few days leaving wonderful carbonization patterns on the polished vessels.
