Like the first flowers one sees on the top of the Beartooth pass in Montana, these little plants bloom among stone and snow. Growing from a piece of sparkling schist, and placed on a copper stand to protect surfaces, this is beautiful on patio, tabletop, or desktop. Bellflower Creations began with the idea of windchimes growing from a flower bulb I’d made in a ceramics class. Through all the iterations of my chimes, I’ve still imagined them like daffodils or snowdrops blooming in the spring. Today that has come full circle with a bulb crafted of copper and a bloom of leaves and flowers.  Approximately 36" high and 18-24" across atop a piece of Manhattan or Berkshire schist. Think of these as ornaments for a favorite tree or garden nook. At about 5" high and 4" across, these are light enough to hang from a tender bough or twig, and are great in all weather. Copper leaves are fold-formed to catch the breezes and given a patina. The Dappled version has a light wash of salt patina which will contrast as the leaf darkens. Inspired by flowers blooming in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone Park, this larger tabletop piece has a beautiful presence about it, bringing a suggestion of those mountain expanses to the home or garden. A piece of stone, often a schist from near Manhattan or the Berksires, is shaped and mounted to a copper stand. A collection of three “plants,” two with bells grow from it.
